PRE-SEASON PLAYERS PITCHING CLINIC: Paid for by BHGS

This year BHGS is trying something new to improve the game for all girls. We are offering pitching clnics for 8U girls and older. All clinics will be held before the season begins when fields are available.

Sign up for a clinic based on years of pitching experience.  Each session is 40 minutes and will be held outdoors at Alta Vista Elementary, field B. The clinic emphasizes fundamentals of the fastpitch delivery, giving players a strong introduction to the correct mechanics.  Players will learn a series of drills that breakdown the motion, giving players information about how to practice as they take on the challenge of pitching.  Cutting Edge is a trusted softball instruction facility and we are happy to be able to schedule their instruction for this new endeavor. Players that want the opportunity to pitch during the season should enroll in this clinic.  Players must bring an adult/guardian to catch for them.

  • Clinic open to players enrolled in 2nd Grade and above (8U, 10U, 12U, 14U divisions)
  • Lessons are scheduled in January/February Saturday 1/7, 1/14, 1/21, 1/28 and 2/4.
  • 10 girls can be scheduled for one lesson. We will take a waiting list if class is full.  If you miss your lesson, you give up your space for the next lesson to the first person on the waiting list.
  • Sign up now, space is limited. Once the classes are full, that's it.
  • Players wear cleats and comfortable clothing
  • Players bring an adult/guardian to be their catcher, bottled water, and softball glove
  • Clinic held outdoors at Alta Vista Elementary
  • After you have registered for the spring BHGS Recreation season, go to sign up sheets.

How are we offering this clinic at no charge?
Last year BHGS hosted a large summer tournament, "Thunder Thriller", that involved most of our summer Thunder teams. Many volunteer hours were invested in prepping, setting and resetting fields, covering  shifts in the snack shack, and general coordination of the event, before, during, and after. We had 40 teams playing in ages 10U, 12U and 14U divisions combined . It is a huge event and the proceeds are being put to good use by paying for these pitching clinics for our players.
