Spring season is the most popular time of the year for softball!  Over 230 girls participate in BHGS softball in Spring.  Learn how to play softball while making lifelong friends. All girls are assigned to a team and get playing time, regardless of physical ability, skill level, or financial situation*. The rules and coaching are adjusted based on age level, so everyone has fun and learns how to play the game.

*Scholarships available for families with financial hardship.  Please complete this scholarship application.

Registering siblings qualifies for a sibling discount on registration costs.

  • Optional gear to be purchased by family includes batting gloves, belt, gear bag.
  • The league is open to all girls, regardless of financial situation. We typically host a Recycled Equipment Table at the beginning of the season. Please contact someone on the board if equipment costs are prohibitive for your family. We will find a way to discreetly get your daughter geared up.

Additional Costs and Family Commitments (6U-13U)

  • End of season celebration / Coaches gifts - Some teams opt to have a year-end celebration party and/or collect donations for coaches' gifts.  These are optional fees, usually $10 to $20 per player.
  • Team Sponsor - Everyone on the team is expected to help find a team sponsor, a company that donates at least $300 for the season. Typically, sponsorship comes from a local business, team business owner, or corporate sponsors. The sponsor's logo is included on the team page in the yearbook. Although the league is dependent on sponsorships to operate (and keep fees low), families are never expected to "chip in" to cover this sponsorship if the team can't find a business to contribute.
  • Snack Shack - Parents are required to volunteer in the Snack Shack.  Games and practices will not begin until the Snack Shack has the necessary number of volunteers. The Snack Shack Coordinator works with the Team Managers at the beginning of the season to coordinate shifts. If you cannot do your shifts, you can “buyout” using the $75 deposit at least one week prior to the scheduled work day.
  • Parent involvement - BHGS is a 100% volunteer-based organization. From the board to the coaches and team Managers, We are all volunteers. We cannot exist without your help. Parents are required to volunteer their time in some capacity including but not limited to, coaching, assistant coaching, being a team manager, game day field preps, cleanup and maintenance or Snack shack duty. Learn about volunteering on the Board page.

Friend Requests

We will try our best to accommodate all requests.

In the Branham Hills Girls Softball Program any two girls who are NOT BOTH either a pitcher, catcher, or designated Thunder/Select player can "Team Buddy" provided the following rules are fulfilled.

If the two girls are experienced, or inexperienced, or one is experienced and the other inexperienced the girls CAN "Team Buddy" and shall be placed on the same team in the 6U and 8U division. (unless in the 8U division two experienced pitchers are on the same team, then one of the experienced pitchers may be moved to another team to create parity). One buddy per player.
A girl in the upper divisions, 10U, 13U may have a “Team Buddy” if the girl joining the league is new to the league and has not played girls softball in the past two years.
Provided the girls are in the same age division, the selected "Team Buddy" will be placed on the same team as the girl requesting a "Team Buddy".
"Team Buddies" will be the same for both girls. i.e. Mary has Jane as her selected "Team Buddy" and Jane has Mary as her "Team Buddy". No buddy chains allowed.
If both players are considered as either: a "Pitcher", or a "Catcher", or a "Thunder/Select Player ", then these players COULD NOT "Buddy Up". Both players would be placed in the Open Draw.

Siblings playing in the same age division will automatically be placed on the same team unless the parent/guardian requests that they be placed on separate teams.
